![]() You can expect it on Steam, GOG, and The Humble Store, too. Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on Game Pass when it’s ready, on PC and consoles. Apart from that, Team Cherry have revealed four new characters after stringing the community through a series of fun riddles. Silksong follows former boss Hornet through a new kingdom, using new weapons, and flipping around with new acrobatic abilities. Captured and brought to this unfamiliar land, you must battle foes and solve mysteries as you ascend on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak. Either way, Team Cherry is a small team and I’m happy they have the leeway to keep making the game “big” or “large” or whatever they want. As the lethal hunter Hornet, explore an ancient kingdom of insects haunted by silk and song. Or maybe I’m one of those overly hopeful Hollowheads that Imogen (RPS in peace) wrote about many moons ago. Maybe the sequel will make a reappearance then. Hollow Knight: Silksong’s last appearance was at that aforementioned Xbox Games Showcase, and we’re getting another not-E3 show from Microsoft next month. Team Cherry first announced the Hollow Knight follow-up in 2019, where they said the project began development as DLC, but soon became “too large and too unique,” and ballooned into a full-fledged sequel. This isn’t the first time Silksong’s “big” size has affected release plans. “We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.” Griffin continued to say, “Expect more details from us once we get closer to release.” “We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing,” said Team Cherry’s marketing representative Matthew Griffin on Twitter. Developer Team Cherry have now shared that Silksong likely won’t hit that “1st half of 2023” mark as the bug-squashing adventure has “gotten quite big”. I think everyone's been waiting long enough.Last summer’s Xbox Games Showcase stated that every featured game would release in the following twelve months, which included the much-anticipated metroidvania sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong. Please for the love of god give us something. Whatever you feel it's still lacking you can add in the form of a DLC. You guys REALLY need to tie up the loose ends and get this out there. ![]() I want a general "Next month", "before June 2020", "February 14th 2020 at 1:14:22.3PM EST" As long as its something. I might remove it from my wishlist and forget about it if there isn't even the most general ETA soon. I'm sorry if this is rude or mean, but I've just had this anger about this building for months and months and frankly i'm really starting to loose hopes about this game. You can add DLCs if you feel the game isn't completely finished like you did with Hollow Knight, I would be happy if a game i'm enjoying or did enjoy got a bunch of new content suddenly. Every day i care a little less about if its as full as hollow knight, and i just want to play the game. ![]() Don't tease it most of a year (if not more, there are still ZERO updates tmk) before release, if you don't know, don't say anything. I remember somewhere you said that you wanted to wait until the game was as expansive as Hollow Knight, and i figured that was fair. ![]() I've excitedly checked for a release date every single day like a kid on christmas day for past 9 months and all that ever greats me is the same "Release Date: TBA". I've had Silksong on the very top of my Steam wishlist since day one and 9 months later it still doesn't even have the most general release date. ![]() But you people explicidly announced on more then one occasion that Silksong was going to be released "Soon". It's one thing to release a teaser trailer nearly a year before release (so far), Its one thing to do this and not really know when your game will be done. ![]()
